Dallas Fire-Rescue Department Enhances Emergency Care with New Blood Program Equipment

What

The Dallas Fire-Rescue Department (DFR) is proud to announce the expansion of its life-saving blood program thanks to a donation by Safer Dallas Better Dallas. The critical donation significantly expands DFR’s ability to provide emergency blood-transfusions in the field.

With the addition of three military-grade, temperature-controlled coolers, blood-warming units, and specialized tubing, DFR will now deploy seven EMS supervisors equipped with blood during every shift.

In addition to the expansion, Dallas Fire-Rescue will provide a comprehensive update on the program’s first-year milestones. This review will highlight key success metrics and the tangible impact these transfusions have had on patient survival rates across the city.
