Take a look back at all of the work and engagement that has happened over the past month with our various Code Compliance Divisions!
Code Compliance Wins First Place at Deck the Plaza 2025!
Code Compliance has done it again — we proudly took home First Place: Team Pride at this year’s Deck the Plaza! Our “Code Pole” Winter Wonderland display transformed the City Hall plaza into an immersive, magical experience that captivated residents, staff, and judges alike.
This year’s setup truly stood out. Our award-winning display featured:
- Five themed Christmas trees
- Ten interactive stations, including a full Code Village highlighting the city's most common violations
- Educational tents
- Arts and crafts for kids
- Games and engagement activities
- A showcase of Connect, Communicate, and Collaborate – Service First, Now, inspired by City Manager Kim Tolbert’s message
At the heart of our exhibit was a commitment to bringing learning to life. Families, residents, and visitors of all ages were able to explore, interact, and better understand Code’s role in supporting safe and vibrant neighborhoods.
What makes this win especially meaningful is the teamwork behind it. This was a multi-departmental, division-wide effort, with every part of Code Compliance contributing—from planning and building to decorating, staffing, and community engagement. This award reflects not only the creativity of our teams, but the collaboration, dedication, and excitement shared across the entire department.
