The City of Dallas Office of Arts and Culture hosts free and open to the public “Meet the Manager! At the South Dallas Cultural Center” event
Dallas – The City of Dallas Office of Arts and Culture (OAC) welcomes residents and visitors to meet with new manager of the South Dallas Cultural Center (SDCC) VanAnthony Williams. From 5 to 7:30 p.m., Saturday, August 16, 2025 the OAC and SDCC will host a free and open to the public “Meet the Manager! At the South Dallas Cultural Center” event where residents and visitors will be able to talk with and mingle with the new manager. The event will take place in the lobby of the center, located at 3400 S. Fitzhugh Ave., Dallas, TX 75210.
With over a decade of experience in leadership among creative spaces and various art programs, and a background in technical theater, Williams has elevated, cultivated, and preserved numerous communities prior to becoming the new Manager of the South Dallas Cultural Center. Previously, Williams served as Director of Technical Theatre and Venue Manager at The Oakridge School, where he led student-centered productions and oversaw operations of a professional performance facility. He also held key roles at the Fort Worth Community Arts Center and Texas Christian University, where he developed community partnerships, streamlined venue operations, and curated multidisciplinary programming that celebrated diverse voices.
William’s holds a BFA in Theatre from Tarleton State University and is currently pursuing a Master of Business Administration in Leadership from Lamar University. He is passionate about building sustainable arts ecosystems, mentoring the next generation of creatives, and creating spaces where everyone feels seen, celebrated, and inspired.
