Dallas Public Artwork “COMUNIDAD” Named CODAawards Top 100 Finalist
The Office of Arts and Culture is proud to announce that "COMUNIDAD" by Brad J. Goldberg, located at Crawford Park, has been selected as one of the Top 100 projects for the 2025 CODAawards.
Voting is easy! Sign up or log in to your CODAworx account, visit the public voting page, and click the heart on your favorite projects. You can vote once per project.
The internationally acclaimed CODAawards celebrate the projects that most successfully integrate commissioned art into interior, architectural, or public spaces.

 Bath House Cultural Center Unveils Three Summer Exhibitions
The Bath House Cultural Center presents three new exhibitions: "Intertwined Detritus" by Jane Cornish Smith, addressing water pollution at White Rock Lake; "Photographs" by James Flowers, blending found objects with cosmic symbolism; and "From Fragments to Form", showcasing sculptural works by 16 Texas artists. Free and open to the public.

 Free Summer Book Club for Teen Girls
The Juanita J. Craft Civil Rights House & Museum is hosting a free summer book club for girls ages 10 to 13, featuring "A Good Kind of Trouble" by Lisa Moore Ramée.
Taking place Thursdays from 6 to 7:30 p.m., June 26 through July 31, the program uses guided discussions and art activities to explore themes of friendship, fitting in, and social justice.

Dallas Launches Search for 2026–2028 Poet Laureate
The City of Dallas has officially opened the application period for its next Poet Laureate and Youth Poet Laureate, who will serve from April 2026 through March 2028. Launched in April 2022, the Dallas Poet Laureate program is a collaboration between the Dallas Public Library, the Office of Arts and Culture, and Deep Vellum Publishing.
This citywide initiative aims to elevate the literary arts and promote literacy and civic engagement through poetry. The program selects a Dallas-based Poet Laureate every two years, along with a Youth Poet Laureate, to serve as literary ambassadors and inspire a love of poetry across communities.
Applications are open to poets who reside in Dallas and meet eligibility requirements.
