Construction begins for new east Oak Cliff Park named for Dallas businessman

What

City of Dallas leaders will be onsite to mark the start of construction for the Roland G. Parrish Park. Workers with heavy equipment will break ground for the $10 million project. The 27-acre park will bring residents in east Oak Cliff in the Cadillac Heights communities recreational amenities including an athletic field and running track, playground, basketball pavilion, lighted loop trail, disc golf, picnic areas, and a football and soccer field with seating.  

Parrish owns and operates 27 restaurants in Dallas and surrounding areas. As the second largest investor in the Reimagining Red Bird Project, he helped bring new medical facilities, a Marriott Hotel, and hundreds of jobs to the southern sector. The Dallas Business Journal ranks his company as the second Largest Minority Owned Firm in North Texas. Parrish Restaurants, Ltd consistently makes the Black Enterprise BE 100 as one of the Top 100 Black Owned Businesses in the United States.
