City of Dallas, Dallas County, and TxDOT Celebrate Opening of New FM 1382 Pedestrian and Cyclist Sidepath

What

The City of Dallas, in partnership with Dallas County and the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT), welcomes a new 1.25-mile pedestrian and cyclist sidepath along FM 1382, extending from Camp Wisdom Road to Mansfield Road in southern Dallas. The new sidepath is a key addition to the City’s trail infrastructure and connects regional trail systems between Dallas, Grand Prairie, and Cedar Hill. The project, funded through a $5 million partnership between the City of Dallas,

Dallas County, and TxDOT is a shared commitment to improving mobility, recreation, and alternative transportation options for Southern Dallas residents and visitors.

The trail segment is part of the larger Southern Dallas County Regional Veloweb, a regional trail corridor that has been years in the making and supports the goals outlined in the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ Joe Pool Lake Master Plan.

Construction was managed by TxDOT, and the City of Dallas will be responsible for the ongoing maintenance of the new trail segment.
