DALLAS -The City of Dallas (City) announces its second annual Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) Heritage & Dragon Boat Festival. In observance of AAPI Heritage Month, the celebration will take place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Sunday, May 18, 2025 at the Bath House Cultural Center at White Rock Lake. A speaker program will begin at Noon where attendees will hear remarks from city leaders and witness a dragon boat eye-dotting ceremony.
In celebration of AAPI Heritage Month, the City and National Association of Asian American Professionals (NAAAP) will recognize the historical, cultural, and artistic contributions of individuals and groups of Asian and Pacific Islander descent in North Texas. The second-year event will showcase the diversity of the entire Asian continent—including East, Southeast, and South Asia—and the Pacific Islands of Melanesia, Micronesia, and Polynesia, with a dragon boat race, performances, workshops, food and merchandise vendors, and an oral history and photography exhibition. The NAAAP will present a market filled with family-friendly activities.
The dragon boat race, produced by the Dallas Delite Dragon Boat Team which calls White Rock Lake home, will consist of corporate, community, and competitive teams along with a “Motley Crew” of individuals who will begin the day as strangers and become fast friends throughout the competition.
