Join us for the first class in our Mortar and Pestle series with James Beard nominated and founder/executive chef of Sandwich Hag and chimanh, Reyna Duong, in collaboration with artist, educator and founder of Break Bread, Break Borders, Jin-Ya Huang, and Dallas College Culinary, Pastry, and Hospitality Center. Open to the general public.
A mortar and pestle improves the quality of your meals and taps into the primal joys of cooking. Learn proper mixing, grinding, smashing, pulverizing, and pounding techniques for both wet and dry ingredients using a mortar and pestle in this no-cook, demonstration class with Chef Reyna Duong. All materials provided.

WITH AVANT CHAMBER BALLET

For 6 weeks, it’s Spring First Steps with Avant Chamber Ballet for ages 5-6 at 4:00-5:00 PM.
INTRO TO SALSA
EVERY FRIDAY IN APRIL (4/18, 4/25)
at 7:00 PM at the Oak Cliff Cultural Center
 Join us for a series of Dance classes and step into the world of Latin rhythm, movement, and joy. Designed for all skill levels, this class will guide you through the vibrant movements and steps of Salsa. Come learn about the roots of this popular dance style to understand, participate and take pride in Latin/Afro Caribbean rhythms.
What to Expect:
- Warm-Up: We’ll start with a lively warm-up to get your body moving and in the groove.
- Basic Steps: Learn fundamental Salsa steps, including the forward and back basic, side
steps, and turns.
- Partner Work: If you come with a partner, great! If not, we’ll rotate partners so
everyone can enjoy the experience.
- Styling & Technique: Discover how to add flair to your movements with arm styling
and body isolation.
- Social Dancing: At the end of the class, we’ll have a mini social dance session to
practice what you’ve learned in a fun, supportive atmosphere.
What to Bring:
- Comfortable shoes (preferably with a smooth sole)
- A water bottle to stay hydrated
GLUE PAPER SCISSORS

Every Wednesday in April (4/16, 4/23, 4/30)
at 4:00 PM at the Oak Cliff Cultural Center
 Learn various cutting techniques and explore shapes as a fundamental element of design using only glue, paper and scissors. In this one-hour session—or a five-session series—you’ll create a single flower or a vibrant bouquet. All materials are included.
