City of Dallas Live Music Series Brings Free Jazz Performances To Dallas Parks

DALLAS -The City of Dallas announces the lineup for its Dallas Live in the Park music series that is bringing the eclectic sounds of jazz to popular city parks. Free performances begin in April and continue through September. 

The series opens April 17 at Kiest Park with the Community All-Star Band featuring nationally celebrated saxophonist and composer Tom Braxton. Thursday evening performances by local and national jazz artists including Carolyn Lee Jones, Len Barnett, and The Rob Holbert Group are 6 p.m. monthly through September. 

Dallas Live In The Park will showcase a diverse range of jazz styles including swing, smooth, contemporary, bebop, and improvisational. Attendees can expect everything from soulful ballads to fusion with each performance blending dynamic rhythms and rich melodies to keep audiences engaged.  

Dallas Live in the Park is presented by the City of Dallas Office of Arts and Culture Community Arts Division and the Dallas Park and Recreation Department to bring families and communities together for a relaxed musical experience in the welcoming setting of Dallas parks. Guests can bring blankets and lawn chairs for comfortable experience.
