This Saturday Celebrate the Legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. at the 43rd Annual City of Dallas MLK Parade featuring Martin Luther King III

Dallas, TX – The City of Dallas and nonprofit partner H.E.L.P. (Hope. Encourage. Love. Protect.) invite the community to join us for the 43rd Annual Martin Luther King Jr. Parade, powered by Accident and Injury Chiropractic, on Saturday, January 18, beginning at 10 a.m. from the Fair Park Pennsylvania entrance.

This year’s parade honors the theme “A Life of Service and Sacrifice,” with the family of Officer Darron Burks serving as the Grand Marshals.

The City of Dallas is honored to announce Martin Luther King III as a special guest in this year’s parade. As a leading advocate for social justice and freedom, his participation in the parade underscores the city's commitment to continuing Dr. King’s legacy of unity, peace, and service to the community. He will be joined by Cynt Marshall, Consultant for Dallas Mavericks and President and CEO of Marshalling Resources.

The festivities kick off with the MLK Kickoff Show at 9 a.m. in front of the MLK Center, where attendees can enjoy entertainment and prepare for the parade. Be sure to arrive early to secure the best spot to view the parade! Bundle up and expect cold temperatures.

The parade will begin at the Fair Park Pennsylvania entrance, heading west on Pennsylvania before turning north onto Latimer Street. It will then head east on Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd, returning to Fair Park. This vibrant procession will feature elected officials, local high school bands and dance teams, car clubs, community organizations, and businesses from across Dallas.

Dallas Interim City Manager Kimberly Bizor Tolbert said, "The MLK Parade unites our community to celebrate Dr. King’s legacy of justice, freedom, and service, with Officer Darron Burks' family as Grand Marshals and Martin Luther King III as a special guest, reminding us that service and sacrifice strengthen our bonds."

Clara Brown Trimble, Chair of the MLK Community Center Advisory Board, shared, "The MLK Parade is a chance to reflect on Dr. King’s timeless message of freedom and service. As we honor Officer Darron Burks' family and welcome Martin Luther King III, we celebrate the values of unity and sacrifice that continue to shape our community."

This year’s parade is managed by H.E.L.P. and proudly sponsored by: Target, American Airlines, Witherite Law Group, Chase Bank, HF Sinclair, AIDS Healthcare Foundation, Carter BloodCare, Wells Fargo, Southern Methodist University (SMU), USAA, Comerica Bank, KNON, Radio One K104 (KKDA FM), and Sherwin Williams.
