City of Dallas (District 8) — The 16th annual Home for the Holidays event continues its legacy of spreading joy and fostering community spirit in Southern Dallas. Since its inception, this cherished initiative has served over 8,000 meals and adopted more than 580 families, ensuring no one goes without a warm meal or holiday cheer during the festive season.
This year, the event aims to extend its reach and impact, providing even more families with support and resources during the holidays. Through the collaborative efforts of local businesses, volunteers, and generous donors, Home for the Holidays not only fills tables but also fills hearts with hope and gratitude.
“Home for the Holidays is more than just a meal or gifts under the tree. It’s about creating moments of connection, fostering unity, and uplifting our community during a time that can be difficult for so many,” said Mayor Pro Tem Tennell Atkins. “Every family deserves to feel cared for and valued, especially during the holiday season.”
Entertainment, live music, and food for our families will ensure a festive atmosphere for all who attend.
The Home for the Holidays event is a true testament to the power of coming together for a shared purpose. Over the years, it has become a cornerstone of Southern Dallas’ efforts to address food insecurity and provide direct support to families in need.
The event will take place on Saturday, December 7, 2024 (10:30 a.m.) at the Singing Hills Recreation Center located at 6805 Patrol Way, Dallas TX 75241. By registration only.
