Dallas Fire Rescue Hosts Open House of Intentional Mass Casualty Incident Training

What

Dallas Fire Rescue is inviting the media to an open house to observe their Intentional Mass Casualty Incident (IMCI) training.

As mass casualty incidents become more prevalent, first responders need to be adequately prepared. This specialized training equips firefighters/paramedics to safely enter high-risk situations, including active shooter scenarios. During the exercise, Dallas Fire Rescue teams will demonstrate their ability to treat, stabilize and quickly evacuate injured victims while wearing Ballistic Protective Gear (BPE) and working under the protection of law enforcement. The goal is to give victims the best of chance of survival in life-threatening situations.

The Dallas Fire Rescue Department remains committed to ensuring its teams are prepared for the most complex emergencies. This open house offers the public an inside look at the department’s dedication to protecting and serving the community with the highest standards of training and readiness.
