DALLAS - Adam Bazaldua, Deputy Mayor Pro Tem of the City of Dallas, has been appointed to serve a one-year term on the National League of Cities (NLC) Board of Directors. In this leadership role, Deputy Mayor Pro Tem Bazaldua will provide strategic direction and guidance for NLC’s federal advocacy, governance, and membership activities. This appointment highlights Deputy Mayor Pro Tem Bazaldua's ongoing commitment to advocating for the advancement of local communities in his home City of Dallas, Texas, and across the country.
“I’m deeply honored to have been selected to serve on the NLC Board of Directors,” said Deputy Mayor Pro Tem Bazaldua. “This appointment is a significant milestone for both my district and the City of Dallas, as it provides an opportunity to advocate for the needs of developing areas in large urban cities. As Chair of NLC's Large Cities Council, I have had the opportunity to lead discussions and collaborate with other large city leaders in conversations surrounding infrastructure, affordable housing, and transportation. I am excited to continue serving as a voice for my community in these conversations and striving to secure more federal funding to support the Dallas communities and organizations working tirelessly to keep our city vibrant and growing.” Deputy Mayor Pro Tem Bazaldua holds additional leadership positions in NLC as the Chair of the Large Cities Council and Second Vice President for the Hispanic Elected Local Officials (HELO) Constituency Group.
Deputy Mayor Pro Tem Bazaldua, who has represented District 7 on the Dallas City Council since 2019, was recognized at National League of Cities' Annual City Summit Conference for his leadership, advocacy, and dedicated service as Chair of the Large Cities Council and awarded the Centennial Under 40 Impact Award for his commitment to community and service. As a board member of the NLC, Deputy Mayor Pro Tem Bazaldua will work alongside other municipal leaders to advocate for policies and programs that benefit cities, towns, and villages of all sizes, ensuring that local governments have a strong voice in federal decision-making.
