DALLAS - Dallas Animal Services (DAS) is extending adoption hours on Saturday, November 23, for a free Moonlight Muttness dog adoption event from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.
The dog population at DAS is currently at 142% capacity, and it urgently needs to be reduced to prepare for some much-needed repairs.
These repairs will begin very soon, and we aim to be below 100% capacity for dogs before they occur.
"We have to get these repairs done as soon as possible, but we need to get our population down to at or below capacity," says Paul Ramon, Director of DAS. "Even if now is not the time for your family to adopt, fostering a dog for a few weeks or more can directly impact our ability to complete these repairs with little disruption to our life-saving efforts."
All Dallas Animal Services adoptions are free, and DAS may be able to accommodate out-of-state adoptions. Adoptions include spay/neuter, age-appropriate vaccinations, microchip, and engraved ID tag. By adopting from DAS, you're getting a new furry friend and contributing to our life-saving mission of finding loving homes for all pets. View all pets in need of loving homes at BeDallas90.org.
