City of Dallas to Host Emergency Preparedness Fair 

DALLAS – The City of Dallas is pleased to announce its Emergency Preparedness Fair, set to take place on Saturday, September 21, 2024, at the University of North Texas at Dallas. This free, family-friendly event, held in honor of National Preparedness Month, aims to educate and engage the community in essential emergency preparedness practices.

Highlights of the Fair:

  • Learn About Disaster Relief Agencies: Discover the organizations that provide critical support during emergencies. 
  • Watch Live Demonstrations: Hear from top experts in emergency preparedness as they share potentially life-saving information. 
  • Participate in Fun Activities: Enjoy interactive activities and have a chance to win exciting prizes. 

This free event offers an opportunity for Dallas residents to gain valuable knowledge and hands-on experience in emergency preparedness. As Travis Houston, the Deputy Director of the Office of Emergency Management & Crisis Response, emphasizes, “It's important for everyone to prepare for emergencies before they happen.
