Comic Convention showcases Latine creators in a one-day event
DALLAS – The Latino Cultural Center will be the host of the eighth-annual Texas Latino Comic Con. This year’s celebration of creators and artists will take place from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., Saturday July 20, 2024 and will be free to the public. Special guest of honor includes upcoming comic book creator John Aviña.
“We are excited for another year of hosting the Texas Latino Comic Con at the Latino Cultural Center. Especially with the inclusion of workshops, and live Lucha Libre” said Manager of the Latino Cultural Center Gerardo Robles.
The theme for the 2024 convention is Steampunk and attendees will be filled with excitement and the opportunity to participate in various activities such as working with Mundo Mascaras, a family company local to the DFW metroplex. Mundo Mascaras will not only be selling their merchandise but also setting up the second live lucha libre event for all to come and enjoy.
This year, the Texas Latino Comic Con Championship belt will be defended by Aski Palomino and his comic book creator Roberto Mercado in tag team match versus Texas Latino Comic Con fonder and Jefe Hector Rodriguez and Dallas wrestling sensation Bengali el Divo.
"We are proud once again to partner with the Latino Cultural Arts Center for the 8th consecutive year to showcase the best comic book creators from the great state of Texas" said Co-Founder of Texas Latino Comic Con Héctor Rodríguez.
