DALLAS - Dallas Animal Services (DAS) and Operation Kindness are partnering to provide free spay/neuter services for un-owned community cats to Dallas residents.
On June 28, Operation Kindness will accept 50 cats for spay/neuter surgery at their new Lifesaving Partnerships Hub at 1771 Terre Colony Ct, Dallas, TX 75212. Cats must be dropped off in a humane trap.
On June 29, DAS will accept 50 cats for spay/neuter surgery at 1818 North Westmoreland Road. Cats must be dropped off in a humane trap. For this event, hard-sided carriers are accepted if the cats can be safely handled.
For both events, drop-off is at 7 a.m. and pick-up is at 3:30 p.m. Both events are for free-roaming community cats only. No owned pets will be accepted.
“This has been an especially busy kitten season,” says Mary Martin, Assistant Director. “Working with partners like Operation Kindness to bring more spay/neuter services for free-roaming cats will help reduce our outdoor cat population and help make next year’s kitten season easier on all of us.”
"Collaborative events like this are one of the most important functions of our new Lifesaving Partnerships Hub," said Ed Jamison, CEO of Operation Kindness. "By working together with our partners at Dallas Animal Services, we can combine our resources to have an even greater impact on pets in need.”
