Please join the Office of Arts and Culture as we celebrate International Dance Day!
Every year on April 29, the world acknowledges the birthday of Jean-Georges Noverre, the creator of modern ballet, by recognizing and celebrating dance. In honor of International Dance Day, the Office of Arts and Culture invites you to a celebration at the City Hall Lobby from Noon to 2 p.m., Monday, April 29, 2024.
Monday’s event has activities for the whole community including food, dance performances, and live music. Director of the Office of Arts and Culture, Martine Elyse Philippe, will host a panel discussion with special guests, followed by an interactive dance class taught by local Dallas artists.
Dance is a universal language that brings people together to share stories and celebrates diverse cultures. This International Dance Day is a chance for residents and visitors to discover the many ways dance can boost physical and mental health and an opportunity to celebrate the joy of dance together.
