 Volunteer Appreciation Week
Our volunteers make a huge impact at DAS. Your commitment to improving the lives of our pets does not go unnoticed, and we are immensely grateful for your dedication.
To begin our celebration, we will be hosting a lunch in the DAS conference room on Sunday, April 21st at 1pm. Afterwards we will be having a Karunda bed building party for those who would like to participate (more details further down in the newsletter).
As part of our appreciation, we will also be hosting a raffle throughout volunteer appreciation week. Every active volunteer will be entered to win a prize Monday-Thursday. On Friday, volunteers who volunteered between April 21-25 will be entered in a raffle for a two other prizes. All winners will be announced on Facebook and will be notified via email.
Thank you for all that you do!
Message from DAS Interim Director- Paul Ramon
"I am excited about the opportunity and grateful to the wonderful group of volunteers who work to provide DAS with additional resources in support of our DAS family. No more extraordinary words can be expressed than the wagging tails of those you are here to support through various means. You are a vital part of our team, and your continued support in our life-saving efforts is greatly appreciated. On behalf of DAS and the City of Dallas, thank you for all you do."
Paul brings more than 20 years of service with the City of Dallas to the table and has been with our department since 2022.

 Community Outreach Position
We are seeking volunteers to work alongside an Animal Service Officer (ASO) in reaching out to Dallas residents who have recently been issued tickets for pet care violations. These tickets/citations may include issues such as loose animals, lack of spaying/neutering, absence of rabies vaccine, or missing mandatory microchips. Volunteers will assist the ASO in distributing informational flyers to residents in targeted areas while offering guidance, resources, and support. You can now sign up for this Wednesday 3-6pm (offered every week) shift on My Impact.

Laundry Thank You
Thank you to everyone who answered our call for laundry assistance by taking dirty laundry home or donating new blankets to the shelter! Our volunteers truly rose to the occasion! Thanks to you, we were able to restock our laundry shelves. Since then, our machine has been fixed and we have been able to keep up with the high demand for blankets and towels. Thank you for ensuring that every pet has a clean blanket for the day. If you would like to continue assisting with laundry you can sign up using the link here.
