Featuring a set by DJ Christy Ray • Free and open to the public
Soft Bones is an invitational exhibition featuring DFW artists investigating Fiber, Textiles, and Material Studies. Curated by artist Analise Minjarez, Soft Bones showcases contemporary artworks that push the conceptual and technical boundaries of the Fibers medium.
Fiber techniques require maintenance to the craft, the ability to practice a skill passed down through generations of cultures, family members, online tutorials, workshops, and maker communities. Centered around artists investigating this medium in the Dallas area, Soft Bones features artists who unravel, play, and investigate how material and traditional techniques in Fibers can create conceptual connections within their studio practices.
The exhibition includes artwork by June Covington, Niki Dionne, Beronica Gonzales, Sam Lao, Antonio Lechuga, Daryl Celeste Meador, Soft Surprise, Sarita Westrup, and VET.
