City of Dallas to offer free disaster preparedness classes for Spanish-speaking residents

The City of Dallas Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) program teaches community members how to prepare for and respond to emergencies and disasters that affect the Dallas area. This is a free course that does not require identification but does require pre-registration.

It is ideal for individuals that are interested in emergency/disaster preparedness, who like to be involved in their neighborhoods/communities and want to assist during disasters. Throughout this course, participants will be educated in basic disaster preparedness, first aid, fire safety, light search and rescue and more. The final day of the course will involve a realistic disaster exercise. Registrants must attend all three classes to receive a course completion certificate.

The CERT course for the month of January will be available in Spanish only. The deadline to register for training is January 9, 2024.
