Join us on a captivating artistic journey spanning three decades as we delve into the multi-faceted world of Fred Villanueva, a visionary artist. “Trayectorias/Trajectories” is an exhibition that invites you to explore the depths of creativity, expression, and introspection, all intertwined with the rich tapestry of Latino Identity, Politics, Consumerism, Spirituality, Ritual, Abstraction, and the ever-evolving role of the artist in society. Experience the fusion of tradition and innovation, introspection and commentary, as we navigate the intricate web of Trayectorias/Trajectories.
About the Artist Fred Villanueva (b. 1973-) creates large scale paintings, sculptures, and time-based installations. His work combines images with abstract and figurative styles. Fred has exhibited in New York City, across the USA, Madrid, Spain, Rotterdam, The Netherlands, and more recently at the New Orleans Museum of Art, Delurk Gallery North Carolina, Mary Tomas Gallery Dallas, Artes de La Rosa Cultural Center in Fort Worth, and the Dallas Latino Cultural Center.
One of the common denominators that the artistic masters shared was a strong understanding of anatomy. This ignited a passion in JC Barba for studying human physiology. During this journey of learning the human anatomy, Barba has created an anatomy book called “Creation of Man.” This exhibit is an extension of this book in a Fine Arts Gallery Setting.
About the Artist JC Barba is a husband, father, author, and artist. Barba is an Anatomy Instructor working for serval educational and professional institutions, offering serval of live anatomy demos. Such institutions include DFW International Airport, The Latino Cultural Center, Booker T. Washington High School of Performing Arts and Visual Arts, and more. Barba also has experience in animation and has received serval of recognitions for his works of art.
"When We Speak!" is an event inviting the community to share their voice and speak their truth through word, music,dance, and song. The "voice" of a person or a people can mean many things."When We Speak" is an evening of spoken word, music, and movement; funded through The National Endowment for the Arts, and The City of Dallas Office and Arts and Culture, and the Latino Cultural Center.
Presented by ArtsVision Performing and Visual Arts, the evening promises to be a catalist for participants to "speak their truth” in whatever way in which it flows through them. We are especially encouraging the young, the senior community, cultural and ALAANA groups to come and share their "story" to tell their truth through song, dance, music, and spoken word. This event promises to be an entertaining family friendly event. Some of our confirmed performance guests include: Sir Rock (Cultural Drum Master) Alexandra Terrell (Spoken word Artist) Debra Wenig Kendrick (Wellness Speaker) The Fabulous Freak Brothers (Band) And ArtsVision Performing and Visual Arts Youth New artists will be listed closer to the event!
"When I Speak" is a free public presentation encouraging peoples of all ages, but especially the youth and seniors, to have an opportunity to develop a presentation that tells their story, or speaks to their truth.
