Readout of Mayor Johnson’s fourth day of official visit to France

This morning, Mayor Johnson was invited to visit the Musée d’Orsay to meet with the President and CEO of the museum, Christophe Leribault. The two had previously met in Dallas when the mayor hosted a delegation from Musée d’Orsay at City Hall last fall. They followed up on the ideas that were shared at their last meeting about future collaborations between Dallas museums and the Musée d’Orsay. After the meeting, the Musée d’Orsay team showed the mayor some of the masterpieces inside the museum.

Following the visit, Mayor Johnson met with representatives from Eviden, a tech company that brings together digital, cloud, big data, and cyber security. After Eviden briefed Mayor Johnson on the security solutions their company has developed, the mayor talked about his focus on lowering crime and improving public safety in Dallas. The Eviden team then shared information about how AI can further protect residents, improve security, and keep cities safer.

Then, Mayor Johnson met with Patrick Wajsman, founder, managing director, and editor-in-chief of Politique Internationale, a French quarterly magazine – founded in 1978 – that covers political affairs and international relations. During their conversation, they discussed global politics, foreign affairs, and the international perception of Dallas. Mayor Johnson talked about why Dallas is attracting talent and businesses and answered many questions about the booming Dallas economy.

Mayor Johnson then visited Banque de France’s “Le Lab”, which is responsible for steering Banque de France’s innovation strategy. Le Lab matches companies' needs with the best technological solutions. As an open innovation center, they are a multidisciplinary hub covering finance, economic research, and relations with economic agents.

During this visit, Mayor Johnson had the opportunity to meet with François Villeroy de Galhau, Governor of the Banque de France. After a discussion about the Dallas economy and the important relationship between Dallas and France, the Banque de France team showed Mayor Johnson their Golden Gallery and some of the artistic treasures they have acquired over the course of history.

The mayor concluded his day by meeting with Said El Yousfi, founder of Maison Wineted and co-owner of Chateau Saint Laurent. Said talked about his multifaceted business and his interest in expanding his business to Dallas. Mayor Johnson was proud to talk about Dallas’s gastronomical scene and the many opportunities that make Dallas the perfect place to be.
