DALLAS - To coincide with the 60th anniversary of President John F. Kennedy’s death in Dallas, Dallas Public Library will screen the 2013 documentary “City of Hate: Dallas and the Assassination.”
The screening will take place on Nov. 18 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. at J Erik Jonsson Central Library, 1515 Young St.
“City of Hate” tells the story of the City of Dallas political climate before the presidential visit and how the assassination affected the city’s reputation for years ahead. Filmmaker Quin Mathews will introduce the movie and answer questions following the screening.
In addition, the 7th floor Dallas History and Archives division will have an exhibit of photographs from the Dallas Times Herald archive of President Kennedy’s visit to Dallas on Nov. 22, 1963, including images of his arrival at Love Field and the aftermath of the assassination. The exhibit will be on display through May 2024.
