Fiber and Materials Studies Series
November 15, 2023 – February 28, 2024
The Fiber and Material Studies Series invites participants to experiment with the medium of fibers during several workshops and events at the Bath House Cultural Center. Activities in this series are led by Dallas-Fort Worth artists and will focus on techniques and materials consisting of natural or synthetic fiber. Fiber media includes fabric, yarn, reed, thread, and a wide range of materials and media.

November 15th, Wednesday, 1:00-3:00 PM
Sarita Westrup, Mini Basket, Adults
Create a beautiful and functional mini twined basket in the round. Learn how to weave with round reed, begin a base, weave the walls, and finish the lip of a small basket . This is a wonderful beginning level basket weaving class; all levels are welcome. More time after the workshop may be needed to finish your basket.

November 16, Thursday, 1:00-3:00 PM
VET, Fabric Collage, Adults
Students will explore the wonderful world of painting with fiber. VET will show you simple techniques of manipulating, cutting, gluing, stitching, drawing, and writing to create a fabric-painted collage that expresses a personal story. Participants will be inspired by the imagery of individual memoirs and freestyle designing.

C R A F T C I R C L E
Dorothy Villarreal and Ernesto Diaz, Jr., of Pegasus Creative Reuse
Join us for CRAFT CIRCLE on the Last Wednesday of the Month! Participants bring their current craft project (crochet, knitting, embroidery, smaller craft projects, etc!) and have focused time and space to work on their project with the community. Artists are invited to come craft, network, and build community. No registration is required.
