Official Launch of Hispanic Heritage Month in Dallas with "VIVA DALLAS!" Mexican Independence Festival and "Grito" Celebration

The Navarro Group with the City of Dallas is thrilled to announce the official launch of VIVA DALLAS: The Mexican Independence Festival and "Grito" Celebration, marking the commencement of Hispanic Heritage Month.

About VIVA DALLAS: 

VIVA DALLAS is the Official City of Dallas Mexican Independence Festival, "Grito" Celebration, and Procession. This FREE festival takes place on the City Hall Plaza and promises a vibrant cultural experience for all attendees, featuring: 

  • Music, Arts, and Crafts 
  • Fine Spirits and Ales 
  • Authentic Mexican Street Food 
  • Main Stage Performances by Mariachis, Bandas, and More  

Viva Dallas Event Schedule: 

  • Festival: 4 to 8 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 16 
  • Location: City Hall Plaza 1500 Marilla Street Dallas, TX 75201 
  • Procession: 6:00 PM 
  • Official "Grito" Celebration: 6:30 PM 
  • "Grito" Contest: 7:15 PM Sponsored by El Rancho Supermercado, with a first prize of $1,000 
  • Music Tribute: 5:45 PM Honoring Norma Rocha Valles 
  • Event End: 8:00 PM 

This family-friendly event is open to the public, showcasing diverse artistic and musical presentations, as well as a delectable array of Mexican dishes prepared by local restauranteurs and traditional food from various regions of Mexico. 

Join us for a memorable evening filled with community spirit, as we come together to shout "Viva Mexico!" and kick off Hispanic Heritage Month.
