Media advisory: Mayor Johnson to welcome 50 mayors and other leaders from Mexico to City Hall

Dallas Mayor Eric L. Johnson will welcome to Dallas City Hall a delegation of 50 mayors and other leaders from across Mexico, including secretaries of the economy of Mexican States. The delegation is sponsored by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Mexico, and the Consulate of Mexico in Dallas helped develop the leaders’ Dallas itinerary.  

The purpose of the meeting is to strengthen the existing partnership between Dallas and Mexico. Mayor Johnson will deliver remarks and then present a proclamation recognizing April 20, 2023, as “Mayors of Mexico Day” in Dallas. Tlaxcala Mayor Jorge Corichi will receive the proclamation on behalf of the delegation and deliver remarks. Both Mayors and the Consul General of Mexico will be available after the program to speak with the media.
