Groundbreaking for new pump station that will provide flood risk mitigation in the West Dallas area

What

The City of Dallas and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) will host a groundbreaking ceremony at the site of the new Trinity Portland Pump Station to mark the start of construction of this important flood risk management project in the Dallas Floodway. The pump station will be constructed along the West Levee and Mexicana Road. The station will have the capacity to collect and pump 250,000 gallons per minute of storm water over the West Levee of the Dallas Floodway to provide flood risk mitigation and help protect the neighborhood from flooding. Opening in late 2025, the pump station is tangible action to reduce flood risk that the neighborhood has been anticipating for many years.
