Office of Community Police Oversight hosts community events to honor victims of police violence

DALLAS The Office of Community Police Oversight, in partnership with area nonprofits and other City of Dallas departments, is hosting another community event to facilitate healing and conversation in the wake of the death of Tyre Nichols and other victims of police violence.

The series will culminate in a few weeks with a final event in the series that will allow Dallas residents to work together to find solutions to policing in the community.

Entitled Conversations to Move Dallas Forward, it will bring together community and faith leaders, and members of the Dallas Police Department for presentations, a question-and-answer session and discussion.

Hosted by District 3 Councilmember Casey Thomas, II, Office of Community Police Oversight, Community Police Oversight Board, the Office of Equity and Inclusion, the Dallas Chapter of the Black Police Association and the Dallas Chapter of the National Black Police Association, this event will take place on Thursday, March 2 at 6 p.m. at the Thurgood Marshall Recreation Center, 5150 Mark Trail Way, Dallas, TX, 75232.
