Greetings, District 10!
I hope each of you are having a relaxing, safe and fun summer! Though the Dallas City Council will not reconvene officially until Wednesday, August 4, our office is actively planning for a productive 2021-2023 term. Come August, Dallas City Manager T.C. Broadnax will release the FY 2021-22 budget proposal, and after, our office will host three town hall meetings to share information about the proposed budget and address District 10 residents’ questions. I look forward to connecting with many of you during these meetings and encourage your participation. At the end of June, Mayor Eric Johnson announced committee assignments for the upcoming city-council term. It is through these committees that most effective policymaking is achieved, and I’m eager to begin serving alongside my colleagues on the following committees to discuss and effect positive change.
Economic Development (Member) Government Performance & Financial Management (Member) Public Safety (Chair) Workforce, Education, & Equity (Member) Ad Hoc Committee on General Investigating & Ethics (Member) Ad Hoc Committee on Legislative Affairs (Member)
As the chair of the Public Safety Committee, my immediate priorities are partnering with the mayor, other councilmembers, City of Dallas staff and community stakeholders to improve the efficiency and staffing of our 911 Call Center, decrease 911-response times and reduce violent crime. The mayor and our entire city council are committed to doing whatever we can to keep all Dallas residents safe.
Thank you to each of you for all you do every day to make the District 10 community a better place. Please continue to stay engaged, and as always, if my team or I can help you in any way, please don't hesitate to email District10@dallascityhall.com. It is an honor and a privilege to serve you.
Council Member Adam McGough, District 10

“Today is a heavy day for the Dallas community as we remember and honor the five police officers who were killed in the line of duty five years ago and the entire DPD family. I remain in prayer for the families of our fallen and all those impacted. Today, we remember the sacrifices of our men and women in blue and recognize the daily service of so many who put their lives on the line to protect and serve everyone in Dallas. We have a lot of work to do, and we honor all those lost in the struggle.”

July 12: Hamilton Park residents and Dallas Police Department (DPD) Northeast Patrol Division officers engaged in an open and honest conversation about keeping Hamilton Park community members safe.
