Pedestrian and bicycle bridges open on the Margaret McDermott Bridge

 

 

What

The City of Dallas and Texas Department of Transportation invite the public and the media to join federal, state, county, and City officials for a ribbon cutting ceremony celebrating the opening of the eastbound and westbound pedestrian and bicycle bridges on the Margaret McDermott Bridge. The non-vehicular bridges will access over the Trinity River.

The second Santiago Calatrava signature bridge was named after Margaret McDermott, wife of Eugene McDermott, philanthropist and one of the founders of Texas Instruments. The bridge is part of the Dallas Horseshoe Project which seeks to rebuild, expand and improve mobility in the Mixmaster where IH-30 and IH-35 converge in downtown Dallas.
