Calling all Creatives!
The South Dallas Cultural Center is inviting emerging and mid-career artists, #creatives, #researchers and #writers demonstrating an interest in the South Dallas community, with considerations of all creative disciplines a commitment to the creative process, and residing in the Greater Dallas/Fort Worth Metropolitan Area to submit proposals for the Juanita J Craft Artist Residency.
The application period for the #JuanitaJCraftHouseArtistResidency 2021-2022 will be opening May 1st @ 3pm CST!
Residencies can be from 2 weeks to 3 months.

The City of Dallas Office of Arts and Culture (OAC) is proud to present the 2021 ART214 Juried Exhibition as part of Dallas Arts Month!
ART214 is an exhibition that takes place at multiple OAC venues at the same time and showcases the works of artists who live in Dallas and the greater North Texas region. The work was selected by a jury after an open call and provides the opportunity for artists to exhibit work for the first time in one of our cultural centers or for the first time ever. It also gives artists who have previously exhibited at one cultural centers an opportunity to show their work at a different center.

REFLECTIONS is a juried photography exhibit of the David W. Carter High School feeder pattern schools, and was created to allow the students an opportunity to creatively reflect upon their thoughts and process their emotions through the camera’s lens.

Juanita J Craft House Artist Residency Inaugural Project
The Beauty of South Dallas by Nitashia Johnson
The inaugural Juanita J Craft House Artist Residency project by Nitashia Johnson launched February 11, 2021. A pilot project, this is the completed work by Nitashia, which features photography and video footage taken over a three month period. The focus was on South Dallas: the place and the people. The goal was to document South Dallas in its current state, and to highlight the people that live and work in the community.
