DALLAS - The Office of Community Care is partnering with Workforce Solutions Greater Dallas and ChildCareGroup to administer the childcare providers micro-grant program. Supported by the CARES Act Coronavirus Relief Funds from the US Department of Treasury, this program will provide grants in the amount of $5,000 to childcare providers that have seen decreased revenue and/or increased expenses due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
“The childcare industry has been tremendously impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic with forced closures, enrollment decreases, the need to address social distancing and numerous operational barriers merging to create a uniquely difficult situation for local providers,” said Office of Community Care Director Jessica Galleshaw. “The availability of affordable childcare is crucial to our city’s working families to maintain gainful employment during a difficult financial time. The Office of Community Care is thrilled to partner with Workforce Solutions Greater Dallas and ChildCareGroup to make these micro-grants available to our city’s childcare providers.”
Workforce Solutions Greater Dallas through ChildCareGroup will distribute these micro-grants to eligible, licensed early childhood centers and homes throughout Dallas County to help support and sustain operations. Childcare providers located in the City of Dallas that are licensed by Texas HHS qualify. Should the number of applications exceed the amount for which funding is available, a randomized selection process will be utilized.
Applications are available until Friday, November 13, 2020 here.
