PARKING ENFORCEMENT

Parking is one of the City’s greatest assets and its effective regulation is an important factor in maintaining vibrant neighborhoods, businesses, and tourist destinations for our city. The Parking Enforcement Division oversees metered parking, valet operations, City-owned parking lots, parking permits and parking citation processing. Currently, our Parking Enforcement Division is in the process of upgrading parking technology and vehicles.  These upgrades will provide greater efficiencies and effectiveness in the monitoring of parking in time-limited and city-managed parking areas.


NACTO TRANSIT STREET DESIGN TRAINING 

NACTO Transit Design Workshop

On Tuesday, January 29, 2019, the North Central Texas Council of Governments (NCTCOG) and NACTO hosted an Urban Street Design Training for transportation professionals in the DFW Region. The training encompassed many transportation planning and engineering topics, including technical elements of street design, signalization techniques, complex intersection redesign, and public space design.

Dr. Raymond Douglas Chong, P.E. is one of the newest additions to the City of Dallas Department of Transportation executive team. Dr. Chong is the Assistant Director of Engineering / Planning. Previously, Dr. Chong served as a City Traffic Engineer under the Street Operations Department of the City of Corpus Christi. On February 5, 2019, Dr. Chong presented on " Sensor Networks: Connectivity and Civic Impact" at the Smart City Connectivity forum workshop in Dallas, Texas. During his presentation, Dr. Chong highlighted the benefits of installing the upgraded Advanced Traffic Controllers fewer time signals in transition, fewer signals on flash after power loss, increased timing options, and data collection.
