City of Dallas introduces its tree giveaway program Branch Out Dallas on Oct. 27

DallasThe City of Dallas is introducing a new program called Branch Out Dallas to give residents a tree at no cost for their home. “We are extremely excited to offer this program which is focused on trees and the benefits they provide to homes. Trees reduce air pollution, cool the air and positively slow climate change,” said James McGuire, director of the Office of Environmental Quality and Sustainability (OEQS).

The Branch Out Dallas pilot program was introduced in the Kiestwood area, and the first 100 trees will be given away on Saturday, October 27, 2018 at 11:50 a.m. at Kiestwood Assembly of God.  After Saturday, all Dallas residents are invited to sign-up for their own free tree starting November 1, 2018 and continuing until January 11, 2019.
