Statement from Mayor Rawlings regarding City Secretary Rosa Rios
"This evening, City Secretary Rosa Rios informed the Dallas City Council that she is resigning from her position, effective this Friday, August 18th.
Ms. Rios served as our city secretary since 2011 and worked for the City of Dallas for 11 years. On behalf of the City Council and the citizens of Dallas, I want to thank her for her service and hard work.
Next week, the City Council will vote on the appointment of Assistant City Secretary Bilierae Johnson as interim city secretary. Ms. Johnson has been in her current post for five years and has worked for the city for 18 years.
Our Ad-Hoc Administrative Affairs Committee, chaired by Councilmember Sandy Greyson, will oversee a national search for our next city secretary. The other members of that committee are Councilmembers Jennifer S. Gates, B. Adam McGough and Casey Thomas, II."
