Tree Planting at the Trinity River Audubon Center

The City of Dallas and the Trinity River Audubon Center will officially commemorate Texas Arbor Day on Friday, November 4, 2016 with the reading of the Arbor Day Proclamation followed by a tree planting at the Trinity River Audubon Center. Sixth and seventh grade students from Trinity Environmental Academy will participate to learn about trees within Dallas’ 6200 acre forest and connect with nature while planting the trees. The City of Dallas has Tree City USA recognition given by the Arbor Day Foundation.

This special event joins others around the state to help keep our world clean and green.  Volunteer groups, Trinity Environmental Academy and Citizen Foresters will continue the process of riparian land restoration and connecting people to nature along the Trinity corridor. Approximately, 200 shade and understory trees will be added to the forest between the Audubon Center and the AT&T trail.
