South Oak Cliff Community Court to receive Texas Veterans Commission grant;
Three other local organizations will also receive TVC Grants today at City Hall
What: The City of Dallas will host a special ceremony at Dallas City Hall to recognize organizations receiving Texas Veterans Commission (TVC) grants. The City of Dallas and three other organizations will receive TVC grants, used to improve the lives of Texas veterans and their families. City of Dallas Interim City Attorney Chris Bower will accept a $300,000 TVC grant on behalf of the South Oak Cliff Community Court to be used to start a new Veterans Court Docket.
Other grants to be presented include:
- $300,000 Texas Heroes housing grant to Rebuilding Together Dallas, Carrollton
- $75,000 General Assistance grant to Dallas County Community Supervision & Corrections Department
- $200,000 Veterans Treatment Court grant for Dallas County Veterans Court (Judge Dominique Collins, Criminal District Court #4)
The Texas Veterans Commission Fund for Veterans awards grants to eligible charitable organizations, local government agencies and Veterans Service Organizations that provide direct services to Texas veterans and their families.
