City of Dallas Sanitation Services announces holiday service schedule

Thanksgiving holiday (Nov. 26) collections will take place on Wednesday Nov. 25. Friday Nov. 27 collections will remain the same. The McCommas Bluff Landfill, City transfer stations and Administration office will be closed on Thanksgiving.

Friday Dec. 25 collections will take place on Wednesday Dec. 23. McCommas Bluff Landfill, City transfer stations and the Administration office will all be closed on Christmas and New Year’s. Friday Jan. 1 collections will take place on Wednesday Dec. 30.

Roll carts must be put out by 7 a.m. and should be three feet apart so collection equipment can maneuver around them. For more information on roll cart options, click here. Sanitation Services provides many programs and services including garbage collection, single-stream recycling collection, residential brush and bulky item collection, recycling drop-off locations, e-waste drop-off locations, household hazardous waste collection events (in partnership with Dallas County), and dead animal pickup.

Sanitation Services serves approximately 240,000 households in the City of Dallas. In addition to providing customers with reliable solid waste collection, Sanitation Services operates and maintains the McCommas Bluff Landfill and three transfer stations. The department also has five district offices located around the City.
