Important System Notice for Sales Tax WebFile Users: Read Before You File
This month all sales taxpayers will access WebFile via the new MyCPA (My Comptroller of Public Accounts) system. Access to the old WebFile system is no longer available. If you are an Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) user, this information only impacts WebFile users.
Set up your new Sales Tax WebFile access quickly and easily today by registering as a NEW MYCPA USER.
The WebFile screens also have an updated look, but the filing process is essentially the same.
Avoid Delays by Registering Now for MyCPA Sales Tax WebFile
- By registering now, you can assure your access to the new system is ready and waiting before the sales tax filing deadline, which is when our phone systems are at peak volume.
- You also can file your return early and schedule your electronic check (Web EFT) payment for a later date by changing the payment effective date.
Once registered and filed, you can take advantage of the enhanced MyCPA features that allow you to:
- store contact information,
- reset your password on your own,
- view summaries of your sales tax returns and previous MyCPA transactions.
Reporting for More than One Taxpayer Account?
You only need to set up one User ID to file for multiple accounts. You can assign multiple taxpayer accounts to your User ID by:
- selecting “File for another Taxpayer” on the Report confirmation screen and entering the next taxpayer number to begin their report; or
- selecting “Change Taxpayer” on the Tax Menu screen and providing the next taxpayer's WebFile number or their old WebFile password to access their account.
We're Here to Help
To help you transition, see Steps for Using MyCPA. You’ll find specific step-by-step instructions plus helpful MYCPA tutorials and videos to learn how to register and see the updated WebFile screens.
Helpful hints for using MyCPA and the new Sales Tax WebFile
- Each page has a HELP link in the top right corner that offers specific tips for the screen you are viewing.
-
Retain the following case sensitive information to access the system next time you report:
- Password
- User ID
- Security Answer.
- If you receive a message when registering as a NEW MYCPA USER that says “your email account is already in use”, this means you have an account already. Please select “I forgot my User ID” and your User ID will be sent to your email address. Once you have received your User ID, you will then need to select “I forgot my password” and a temporary password will be sent to your email address.
- Once you have registered for MyCPA, you will login under RETURNING MyCPA USER.
We appreciate your patience as we work to improve your experience with our online filing systems.
Thank you,
