Action Required - Notification of Interruption of Payment Card Services and Contract Close-out with JPMorgan!
Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts sent this bulletin at 07/07/2011 11:07 AM CDTThe expiration date for the contract extension of the payment card services contract with JPMorgan is Aug. 31, 2011. During the next two months, entities with existing accounts must do the following:
- reconcile their debit and/or credit balances in full for all opened and closed accounts
- close all opened accounts by notifying JPMorgan
- finalize any remaining transition activities
The Comptroller has extended the payment card services contract with JPMorgan several times beyond its original term to provide additional time for state entities to complete their transition activities to the new payment card vendor, Citi. As a condition to accept extensions well beyond the term of the original contract, JPMorgan has the contractual authority to cancel cards when balances go unpaid after 45 days past the cycle date.
Below is a schedule of when the full balance must be paid to prevent closure of your account:

At this time, for those state agencies that have recently experienced an interruption to their payment card services, the Comptroller can offer two solutions: paying off existing balances or issuing purchase orders for purchases until transition to the Citi cards can be completed.
