New Energy Code Workshops in April

SECO will offer Energy Code Update Workshops in nine additional cities across the state. Workshops will be held in Amarillo, Arlington, Dallas, El Paso, Austin, Houston, Corpus Christi, Victoria and Brownsville. The Residential Workshop delivers updates and guidance for the 2009 IECC Residential and 2009 IRC: Chapter 11, and the Commercial Workshop covers the 2009 IECC Commercial. 2012 International Energy Conservation Code Technical Review

The Energy Systems Laboratory of Texas A&M University completed its review of the 2012 International Energy Conservation Code (IECC) and the 2012 International Residential Code (IRC), Chapter 11. The report provides a detailed technical analysis comparing the stringency of the Texas Building Energy Performance Standards based on the 2009 IECC and the 2009 IRC, Chapter 11 with the recently published 2012 editions of the code.

New Water Conservation Compliance Certification Form

Chapter 447 of the Texas Government Code requires all new construction or major renovation of state-funded buildings, including institutions of higher education, to provide SECO a Water Conservation Compliance Certification. The Compliance Certification must be signed and stamped by the building’s architect or engineer and submitted to SECO prior to beginning construction. A copy of this new form can be found on the Water Conservation page of SECO’s website.
