Texas Tuition Promise Fund period ends Feb. 29

Just a few days remain for Texas families to enroll their children in the Texas Tuition Promise Fund at 2011-12 prices. The current enrollment deadline is February 29, 2012. (Parents of newborns and children under one year old, have until July 31 to enroll at this year’s prices.) Act quickly to lock in today's prices.

Enroll in the state’s prepaid tuition plan today to:

  • avoid future tuition and required fee increases at Texas public colleges;
  • receive tax advantages that come with any other 529 plan, including federal income, gift and estate tax benefits;
  • start prepaying for tuition and required fees for a four-year degree, two years of community college or just a few classes or semesters at Texas public colleges and universities by purchasing higher education “tuition units;” and
  • take control of the cost of your child’s college education.

The fund offers families affordable, flexible options to prepay tuition and required fees at Texas public colleges and universities. It also includes all the tax advantages that come with any other 529 plan, including federal income, gift and estate tax benefits.
