IMPORTANT: Read Before Filing TX Sales Tax Online
All Texas sales taxpayers now access WebFile via the new MyCPA (My Comptroller of Public Accounts) system. Access through the old WebFile system is no longer available.
New System Login Requirements
You will need to set up a new User ID and password. Create your new TX Sales Tax WebFile access quickly and easily today to ensure your access to the new system is ready and waiting before the Jan. 20 due date for Texas sales tax.
The WebFile screens also have an updated look, but the filing process is essentially the same.
Setup Steps
- Set up your user account:
- Create your own unique, easy-to-remember user ID (at least 7 characters including numbers and case-sensitive letters; no spaces).
- Enter your email address.
-
- Establish access to tax accounts. Have the WebFile number available for each taxpayer account you wish to access.
We're Here to Help
To help you transition, see Steps for Creating your MyCPA Login. You’ll find detailed instructions plus helpful MYCPA video demos to learn how to login and to preview the updated WebFile screens.
Helpful Hints for Using the MyCPA Login and the New Sales Tax WebFile
- Each page has a HELP link in the top right corner that offers specific tips for the screen you are viewing.
-
Retain the following case sensitive information to access the system next time you report:
- Password
- User ID
- Security Answer.
- If you receive a message when registering as a NEW MYCPA USER that says “your email account is already in use”, this means you have an account already. Please select “I forgot my User ID” and your User ID will be sent to your email address. Once you have received your User ID, you will then need to select “I forgot my password” and a temporary password will be sent to your email address.
- Once you have registered for MyCPA, you will login under RETURNING MyCPA USER.
We appreciate your patience as we work to improve your experience with our online filing systems.
Thank you,
Electronic Reporting Team
