Did you know Bedford has a leash law? We want your furry best friend to live their best life and stay safe! That means following the City’s leash ordinance, which states:
- Dogs must be on a leash at all times, except within an enclosed area on the owner’s property or other private property that the owner authorized the dog to be there. An enclosed area is considered to be a fenced-in backyard, or fenced areas identified as off-leash areas by the property owner.
- Dogs must be on a leash in all public places, as well as parks and recreational areas (including walking trails), unless in a designated off-leash area like the Bedford Bark Park.

Do you have a general question related to code enforcement, economic development, trash/recycling, parks, etc.? Ask us! Each month, we’ll feature at least one question from “Bedford Buzz” subscribers from the previous issue. Submit your questions at www.bedfordtx.gov/questions.
QUESTION: Is there a light at the end of the tunnel for when we will get our U-turns back for roads along Hwy 121?
ANSWER: NTE crews are pouring decking at Forest Ridge Drive and are hoping to open the U-turn at Forest Ridge reopened in either June or July. For Central Drive, beams were only recently put in for the expanded toll lanes, and decking will be put in after the Forest Ridge Drive decking. NTE is estimating reopening the U-turns at Central Drive around July, weather permitting.
QUESTION: Is there a list of phone numbers that will be used by the new emergency alert service? I would like to add as a contact in my phone to ensure I get the messages.
ANSWER: Yes, please add 817-713-2100 to your contacts. Your text messages (SMS) will be from "City of Bedford." Want to sign-up? Visit www.bedfordtx.gov/alert.
