Do you have a general question related to code enforcement, economic development, trash/recycling, parks, etc.? Ask us! Each month, we’ll feature at least one question from “Bedford Buzz” subscribers from the previous issue. Submit your questions at www.bedfordtx.gov/questions.
QUESTION: Are mobile homes allowed in Bedford? It looks like a double wide mobile home is across the side street from Stonegate Elementary School. I think it is where the old snow cone stand used to be. Is this area zoned for mobile homes?
ANSWER: This mobile home was placed by the City next to Fire Station 3, to house firefighters while construction crews are working on the renovations to the station. Please see article above for more information.
Outside of this situation, mobile homes are only permitted on properties located within a Mobile Home Park zoning district. In some cases, temporary buildings such as mobile homes are allowed on a temporary basis if the use of that mobile home is related to a construction office, public schools or churches, or a real estate sales office if there is an active building permit on the subject property and property is used for a governmental organization (as in this situation). The mobile homes are only allowed to stay there during construction and must be removed once construction has been completed.
QUESTION: Where can I see the award-winning video “The Paranormal Investigation of Old Bedford School” mentioned in the December Buzz?
ANSWER: You can watch the Paranormal Investigation of Old Bedford School and the City's other award-winning videos on the City of Bedford YouTube channel.
