Three Things to Know in Arlington: Dec. 9-14, 2025

The Lights at Interlochen, one of the largest and longest running holiday traditions in North Texas, is back for the 2025 season! Each year, nearly 200 homeowners in this northwest Arlington neighborhood celebrate the season by decorating their homes with festive lights and holiday-themed displays. Admission is free.

The public is invited to drive through the neighborhood from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. nightly Dec. 13 through Dec. 25. This year is the 50th anniversary of the spectacular neighborhood display, which draws an estimated 100,000-plus visitors from across the Dallas-Fort Worth-Arlington region. People magazine ranked the Interlochen Lights display No. 8 on its list of top 10 Christmas light displays in America in 2024.

The Arlington Police Department will set up traffic control posts in the area to help facilitate safe travel. All drivers must enter Interlochen from Westwood Drive at Randol Mill Road. Signs throughout the neighborhood will direct traffic along the two-mile trail.

Arlington Parks, Recreation & Culture offers Winter Camp for children ages 5 to 12 at five recreation centers located across The American Dream City. Participants, who are asked to bring their own sack lunch, can enjoy a variety of games and activities and an afternoon snack. Register now to reserve your spot! 

Winter Camp enrollment fees range from $105-$150 per child per week, depending on the recreation center. Arlington Parks, Recreation & Culture does offer discounts for enrolling multiple children in a camp as well as reduced rates for residents who qualify for financial assistance.

The 21st annual Holiday Lights Parade in Downtown Arlington is set for this Saturday with activities starting at 2 p.m. and ending around 9 p.m.

Join us to make holiday crafts at the Downtown Library, find great gifts at the Pretty Little Things vendor market, watch free performances at the Levitt Pavilion and get photos with Santa himself after the parade and Christmas tree lighting. The parade kicks off at 6 p.m. at the corner of College and South streets and loops around City Hall and the Downtown Library. 

Visitors are invited to bring a new toy donation for Mission Arlington. Parking Downtown is free.
