Making a Difference
1) Making Davidson County more energy efficient
2) Creating new long-term financing opportunities
3) Introducing hundreds of millions in new economic growth
The Office of the Metropolitan Trustee cannot stop pulling new wins for Davidson County!
In addition to hosting the premier global event for Property Assessed Clean Energy (PACE) financing professionals in Nashville, I was awarded the 'PACE Champion of the Year' award at the #PACENation Summit!
|
|
Under my leadership, we have injected $58.9 million in new capital investment into our local economy!
Additionally, the C-PACER program has facilitated the creation of over 200 local jobs.
|
Not only that, but our program has reduced Nashville’s carbon footprint by over 3000 metric tons, equivalent to removing 714 gas powered cars from the road.
Our C-PACER program is projected to save nearly $1 million in greater energy efficiencies.
A huge congratulations to our Office Manager & C-PACER manager Mr. James Harris for receiving the 'PACESetter Award for Advocacy and Policy Initiatives.' His dedication and hard work have truly paid off.

You or Loved Ones May Qualify!
We are pleased to announce an increase in the qualifying income limit for the Property Tax Relief program to $36,370, and for the Tax Freeze program to $60,000. This expansion allows more Davidson County residents to benefit from these programs.
This year is anticipated to bring increased property values and higher property taxes since the last assessment in 2020 due to our city growth. Taking advantage of the Tax Freeze program now can lock in current property tax amounts, eliminating the burden of future tax increases.
In light of the pressing issues of gentrification and rising living costs, I have scheduled this year’s Tax Freeze & Tax Relief Sign-Up Events one month earlier than usual to give Davidson County residents ample time to pre-enroll before statewide registration opens on July 24th.
To help residents understand these changes, we have created an updated 2024-2025 Property Tax Relief & Tax Freeze Programs brochure.

As a former educator, it is always a priority to impart the value of community-focused initiatives to our future leaders. In the light of Davidson County’s upcoming transit referendum, our high school and college interns are pounding the pavement themselves in pursuit of improving Nashville transit.
With just a few clicks of their smartphones, our 4th cohort of interns are using their smartphones to expose Davidson County’s transit disparities.
With the snap of a camera, the interns have uploaded hundreds of pictures at bus stops across Middle Tennessee. Along with a photo, the interns report each bus stop’s cleanliness, safety, and accessibility. Under the guidance of Metropolitan Social Services and Meharry Medical College’s own Geographic Information Systems (GIS) expert Dr. Wansoo Im, the students' hands-on data collection will identify the disparities that exist in Nashville's infrastructure.

To further mitigate the prevalence of gentrification-induced-iniquities, our interns quickly learned the ins-and-outs of our 2024 Tax Relief and Tax Freeze programs. Every day, the students apply their knowledge to their fields of study - political science, social justice, marketing, law, biology, and more - using their individual doctrines to comprehend and create the solutions to your Davidson County of Tomorrow. |

We’ve been everywhere! Can you spot us? We’ve been all over the map so far.
This summer, we have continued My “2nd Annual Walks with the Trustee” series starting at Historic Fisk University with our “2nd Annual Diane Nash Commemorative Walk”.
|
Then in May, we walked through vibrant 12 South to pave the pavement for our "2nd Annual Walk with Faith".
We traveled alongside the Tennessee Pride Chamber, and Tennessee Equality Project through Historic Printers Alley to navigate our "2nd Annual Walk with Pride".
New Americans Walk
And most recently, we laced up our tennis shoes once again to walk through Nolensville Pike for our 4th installment in the series, our "2nd Annual New Americans Walk."
|
|
|
With the support of our walk partners, America Walks, Walk Bike Nashville, Tennessee Justice for our Neighbors (TJFON), Nashville & Davidson County Mayor Freddie O'Connell's Office, and District 17 Council Member Terry Vo, we designed this walk specifically to welcome and support Davidson County’s new American populations by providing a platform for new resources and connections.
