Information regarding flooding

There has been widespread impact due to the recent storms.  Throughout the State, City, and District there has been significant flood damage.  For those of you who are experiencing flooding, there are several things available for assistance.  Hands on Nashville is available to assist in many ways.  If you need help moving things out of flooded areas, etc., or if you want to volunteer to help, Hands on Nashville can help.  Go to hon.org or 615-244-7444 or nashvilleresponds.com/assistance.

We are currently working with our State Reps and State Senators to get disaster declarations which we are very hopeful will come I soon.  Once that happens, I’ll let you all know how to proceed with securing assistance.

In the meantime, keep records of your damage and we are working to open a self reporting damage tool that will allow you to easily report your damages.  That will greatly assist us in our ability to get disaster relief funding.

OEM and MNPD are currently working through neighborhoods with significant flood damage making assessments and providing assistance where needed.  Unfortunately, there have been fatalities and injuries due to this flooding event.

Do not hesitate to contact the MNPD 911 line for assistance or the 615-862-8600 for non emergencies.

I’ll provide updates as I get them.
