Attachments: 2024 W4 Tax Exempt Requirements and W4 Form

On February 16, 2024, any Form W-4 claiming exemption withholding for the previous year will expire. The City of Memphis is required by the Internal Revenue Service to obtain a new W4 form from each employee who wants to claim exempt for the current year.

We encourage employees claiming exempt, to update their W-4 information via Oracle EBS Self-Service or complete a W4 form and return it to payroll, Room 368, NO LATER than 2/23/2024. If a new W4 is not received or a change has not been made in HRSS by this date, the City of Memphis is required by the I.R.S. to withhold based on SINGLE OR MARRIED FILING SEPARATE.


*Please make sure you check your Federal Tax withholding periodically throughout the year. Thank you for your cooperation in this matter.
